Libertarian Woodard Announces Candidacy for McLean County Board

BLOOMINGTON – Kevin Woodard, a Bloomington resident and member of the Libertarian Party has announced his intention to run for McLean County Board in District 10 in the 2018 general election.

Woodard will be running on several platform initiatives, but his primary goal is to give voters more choices. In addition to giving voters more options on the ballot, Woodard plans to run on fiscal responsibility.

“Voters deserve a chance to vote for someone other than the Republican incumbent,” said Woodard. “They also deserve the choice to vote to eliminate the Bloomington Election Commission and consolidate McLean County to a single election authority.”

The Libertarian Party of McLean County is circulating a petition that would add a referendum to November’s ballot. That referendum would abolish the Bloomington Election Commission, leaving the McLean County Clerk’s office the only election authority in the county.

Woodard works as a collector with AFNI and has lived in McLean County for eight years. Previously he served as Traffic Engineer with the City of Bloomington and has 25 years of experience in Transportation Engineering. He is married to Lanette Woodard. They have two children, Kristen and Kenneth.

Kevin Woodard is available for print, radio/audio, and television/video interview regarding this story. To book an interview, please contact him at kwedsi@yahoo.com or by calling (515) 231- 5032.
